Twenty three years ago today, September 27, 1983, Sri Chinmoy started to play the cello. Since then, it has become one of his favorite instruments, featured in hundreds of his free concerts around the world.

Sri Chinmoy often sings and plays his own melodies on the cello at the same time, almost as one would use a harmonium. Again, in some of his performances, Sri Chinmnoy improvises with the cello.

This performance presented here is only instrumental, but it is extremely sweet and pleasant to the ear. This music is very conducive to meditation, such is its inner stillness and quietude.

Our gratitude to Sri Chinmoy for this most soulful and illumining offering.
