Thought of the Day: On Japan & Enthusiasm – Sanjaya Spettigue

Uploaded on November 30, 2006

Today Sanjaya Spettigue brings our thoughts to Japan and what qualities make Japan such a special place and culture. Sanjaya also reflects on the inner quality of enthusiasm. Sri Chinmoy loves Japan, for it is a land of immense inner and outer beauty. Sri Chinmoy also teaches the value of enthusiasm. Here is a selection of four poems on enthusiasm and one on Japan, written by Sri Chinmoy (unofficial):

“Every day I need
A new wave of enthusiasm-light
To speed up my purity-heart’s
Heavenward aspiration-journey.”

* * *

“Enthusiasm and cheerfulness
Are
The inner war-winners.”

* * *

“I must never lose
My joy and enthusiasm
In my God-manifestation-task.”

* * *

“The day is always
Filled with negative forces,
But by using your enthusiasm,
You can conquer them.”

* * *

“Simplicity
Japan has.
Beauty
Japan gives.
Sincerity
Japan knows.
Purity
Japan reveals.
Fear
Japan braves.
Doubt
Japan tramples.
Humility
Japan is.”
– Sri Chinmoy

Our gratitude to Sanjaya Spettigue for his contribution.
