“Music of the Aspiration Heart” by Sri Chinmoy

Last modified February 15, 2009

In this wonderful recording, originally released as a CD in 2002, Sri Chinmoy performs 46 melodies on the Western Flute.

Since arriving in America in 1964, Sri Chinmoy sought to inspire Truth-seekers and God-lovers to go deeper and higher in their inner life of aspiration and in their outer life of dedication.

Through his own prayers and meditations, he received boundless inner peace, joy and light, and endeavored to share them with the world at large.

Manifesting this inner, dynamic light through music, art, literature and sport, Sri Chinmoy sought to unite people in a common feeling of love, friendship and oneness, as one world-family.

His “World Harmony Run“, an international Olympic-stytle torch relay for world-oneness and friendship, has touched and inspired countless people around the globe.

In 1984 he started a series of “Soulful Music with Maestro Sri Chinmoy” concerts, dedicated to the ideal of a peaceful world. In these concerts, the seekers all shared the inner peace embodied in Sri Chinmoy’s meditative music. Sri Chinmoy’s concerts were always offered free of charge. From 1984 until he passed away in 2007, Sri Chinmoy offered almost 800 free concerts to the public around the world, in distinguished halls such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and LIncoln Center, as well as in many smaller, more modest venues.

We hope that these melodies, performed in a meditative mood by Sri Chinmoy, will help seekers to go deep within and discover new worlds wit
hin, worlds of inner joy, peace and light, of universal oneness and transcendental delight.
