“Sri Chinmoy Sings 37 English Songs” CD (2004)
Dear listeners, in this recording from 2004, Sri Chinmoy composes and sings 37 English songs while traveling in Bali, Indonesia.
Sri Chinmoy composed over 20,000 songs in his lifetime, including over 7,000 English songs. The vast majority of Sri Chinmoy’s songs are of a devotional nature. They are highly inspiring, as they reflect and express the intimate connection between man and God. Many of these songs are of a contemplative nature, in which the seeker reflects on different aspects of his/her spiritual life.
Music is one of the main ways that Sri Chinmoy used to serve the heart of aspiring humanity. From 1984 to 2007 he offered almost 800 concerts of spiritual music, in halls large and small, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Royal Albert Hall (six times) and the Sydney Opera House. In these concerts he sang and played his soulful musical compositions, to share moments of inner peace and joy with the world at large. His concerts were always free of charge, offered as a service to the world-community.
When listening to Sri Chinmoy singing, one can feel that his songs come from the depths of his aspiration-heart and realisation-life. His singing voice is flooded with sweetness and love for God and for humanity.
We are grateful to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful and illumining offering, and to you all for sharing your time with us.
