“Music of the Aspiration Heart” Flute by Sri Chinmoy

Last modified December 21, 2015

In this recording, originally released as a CD in 2002, Sri Chinmoy performs 46 melodies on the Western Flute. These tracks are particularly conducive to meditation and relaxation.

In 1984 Sri Chinmoy began a series of concerts entitled  “Soulful Music with Maestro Sri Chinmoy”, dedicated to the ideal of a peaceful world. In these concerts, the seekers all shared the inner peace embodied in Sri Chinmoy’s meditative music. During these concerts, Sri Chinmoy nearly always performed on the flute, which along with the esraj was amongst his favourite instrument.

Sri Chinmoy’s concerts were always offered free of charge. From 1984 until he passed away in 2007, Sri Chinmoy offered almost 800 free concerts to the public around the world, in distinguished halls such as Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as in many smaller, more modest venues.
