Welcome to this week’s episode and to more stories from the heart of the world. We have two stories for you from volume 7 of Sri Chinmoy's collection entitled Great Indian Meals, featuring both heroes and villains, and main characters whose names begin with the letter ‘A’. These stories were written in the 1970s and flow with the central themes of love and trust, honor and valour, compassion and forgiveness. Enjoy.
Akampan The Hero
The first story is an intriguing account taken from the Sanskrit epic the ‘Ramayana’ about Ravana's commander in chief Akampan, and their early attempts in the battle against Rama.
Ashtabakra Frees His Father
The second piece is about Ashtabakra, who against all the advice of his mother bravely attempts to free his imprisoned father from King Janaka. To do so he must out wit the great court scholar Bandi in a duel of Vedic knowledge.
