Transfiguration: a play by Udar The Unbounded Troupe

Last modified October 31, 2006

This past Saturday, October 21, 2006, we had the delight of witnessing the play group “Udar the Unbounded Troupe” performing a play called “Transfiguration”. This play was written by Suresh Chandra Chakravarti and translated from Bengali by Sri Chinmoy.

It is the story of a blind beggar man and an ugly beggar woman…and how both are transformed by the power of love.

We have already published another performance of this play. You can listen to it here. But this performance we are publishing today has been rated by Sri Chinmoy as the best, even though this story has been dramatized many times throughout the years.

So we hope you enjoy this adventure into Indian lore…
