Dear friends, it is with great joy that we bring you "Prayer-Flowers", by Sri Chinmoy. This album was originally released as an LP in 1977.

Since arriving in America in 1964, Sri Chinmoy dedicated his life to contribute to humanity's individual and collective progress.

Through his own example in prayer and meditation, and his activities in the fields of art, music, literature, sport, and humanitarian aid, Sri Chinmoy served as a shining inspiration to millions of people worldwide. Sri Chinmoy also founded numerous worldwide initiatives to foster love and friendship among people and nations. His work has been lauded by luminaries such as Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev and numerous luminaries in many fields of endeavor.

One of Sri Chinmoy's significant contributions to humanity is in the field of music. As a composer, he composed more than 13,000 Bengali devotional songs and 7,000 English songs.

As a musician, he traveled throughout the world, offering concerts, always free of charge, to audiences in halls small and large, from the Royal Albert hall, Lincoln Center and the Sydney Opera House, to small, modest halls, churches and auditoriums. The common thread in all his musical concerts was always to give unconditionally and share with the audience moments of inner peace, beauty, light and delight through music.

Sri Chinmoy's music sprang from the depths of his aspiring heart, a heart full of love for God and for humanity. His songs have a devotional quality to God, expressing many of the states of consciousness that a seeker feels on his/her way to God- Realisation.

This type of music can enhance the meditation of an aspiring seeker, and thus be of great service to humanity at large, for music is the universal language, common to all in the heart of hearts of every human being. We all share this humanity, and we also share our inner cry for something higher and deeper. Sri Chinmoy's music helps to nourish and foster this inner cry.

We are grateful to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful and illumining offering, and to you all for listening and sharing with us through this music.
