Sri Chinmoy plays many, many instruments. In a concert in Switzerland in 2005, he played 170 instruments in 6 hours! But of all the instruments on which he performs, the organ is, according to him, the one that fulfills him the most.

The organ offers such an ample resource for musical expression, and Sri Chinmoy takes full advantage of this. He literally creates musical universes out there. When I listen to his performances, I invariably feel that I am moving in space, passing galaxies at a fast rate. Perhaps this poetic metaphor is caused by the expansiveness and free imagination which I perceive in Sri Chinmoy's organ music. The variations in texture are nothing short of spectacular; from a strong, rich texture full of deep, rumbling sounds, to a sublime, ethereal play in the high registers, Sri Chinmoy's organ music will inspire, energize, open the imagination, and then some!....

This collection of organ performances by Sri Chinmoy features some of the most famous organs in Europe, including the organ at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, and the Basilica of St. Dennis, in Paris.

Our gratitude to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful and illumining offering.
