Suballabha studies meditation with Sri Chinmoy. This recording is from 1995. The music is excellent, with both Icelandic and international elements. The CD has a great feeling to it! Here is the text for the different tracks on this CD:

1) Gunnar of Hlidarendi: Gunnar would rather die than leave the country he loved. This song is an ode to Iceland and the hero Gunnar of Hlidarendi.

2) Fruit of the Earth: We are the fruit of the earth. The earth gives us a body to house our soul so we may gain wisdom and maturity. therefore we should treat the earth, our mother, with consideration and respect.

4) Highland: Over hills and ridges, into deep valleys, up to mountaintops my spirit soars. Beauty and power surround me. I hear the sound of distant trumpets.

5) Battle of Knights: Horses running, armour shining, a sign is painted on his shield. Lances breaking, horses falling, a knight lies in the battlefield.

6) Nocturne: The night brings peace, the mind becomes calm and opens doors to new dimensions. Wings are spread, we fly and become one.

7) The Great Walk: We walk through life from one milestone to another, and every milestone brings us new experience, new truth. Yet we keep on searching for the one and only truth, this is our destiny.

8) Himalaya: For thousands of years holy men have guided us from deep valleys of ignorance. They have climbed the mountain and then returned to show us the path to the top.

9) Vision: Behind the mist of senses is a land, mostly hidden except in a dream. Thereto seeks a mind in peace, there is the beginning, creation itself.
