“Songs of Eternity” — Selected Tracks

Last modified March 31, 2008

This album by Sri Chinmoy, “Songs of Eternity”, 1972 was published in Kingston, Jamaica and was originally released as an LP.

It was later re-released on CD.It features seven English songs which are based on poems from Sri Chinmoy’s book of mystical poetry – “My Flute“.

In his simple, yet beautifully elegant style, Sri Chinmoy’s devotional poetry manifests the height and depth of mysticism, while at the same time charming us with the devotee’s sweet intimacy with God. Sri Chinmoy started writing poems in the early 1940s, while at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual community in Pondicherry, India.

In this LP, “Songs of Eternity”, we have a good example of the expressiveness of Sri Chinmoy’s music. As a musician and a poet he showed and shared heights unparalleled.

We are grateful to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful and illumining offering, and hope that the inner beauty of this music will captivate your heart and lead you to greater heights in your life-journey.
