The album includes songs which include the words of Jesus Christ, set to music by Sri Chinmoy. These include the immortal utterances of Christ, such as:

“I will make you fishers of men”, “Blessed are the peacemakers” and “I and my Father are One.”

There are also Bengali songs that Sri Chinmoy composed in honour of Jesus Christ – such as, Jishu Jishu Jishnu nam, and Jishu Kristo and Jishu Avatar.

This collection of songs are performed with great devotion by the excellent Mountain-Silence. sublime expression of Sri Chinmoy’s love for the Christ.

From the CD Harmonia Coeli we find the following notes:

“Mountain-Silence is a female vocal and instrumental ensemble from Switzerland, Germany and Austria, who sing Sri Chinmoy’s songs with the accompaniment of violin, cello, harmonium and guitar. They offer their prayerful performances in churches, monasteries and cathedrals throughout Europe, and sing on this album in seven different languages. Included here are songs composed in honor of Pope John Paul II and Mother Theresa, which have been performed for both these world-peace-luminaries.”

Indeed, Mountain-Silence have achieved a high level of expression in the realm of soulful music. Their performances are full of warmth, devotion and heart-moving softness.

Our gratitude to Mountain-Silence for their soulful offering.
