Jhallika is a musical ensemble that performs devotional songs that are intended to be meditative and create a sense of peace, beauty and light for listeners. Jhallika is dedicated to performing the soul-stirring music of Maestro Sri Chinmoy, who believed that soulful music is the language of the heart – transcending cultural and linguistic barriers and opening listeners to their own inner beauty and oneness with fellow beings, fostering a deep sense of unity and oneness.
The group’s name “Jhallika” refers to “bright light”, “lustre” or “splendor” in Sanskrit, to convey the spiritual light that soulful music embodies. In 2016 the group produced an album titled “A New World of Peace”.
