Thought of the Day: On Fear

Last modified January 15, 2007

In this week’s Thought of the Day – Sanjaya Spettigue talks about fear. In this short two minute extract, Sanjaya examines – Why we can be fearful, the problem of allowing fear to dominate, and how we can overcome fear.

Of particular interest is the idea Sanjaya mentions that “Thoughts can have materialising power – and if we cherish fear – it could attract those very things we fear the most.”

On the subject of how to overcome fear Sanjaya mentions Jesus teaches us to love our fellow man – and from love we get oneness and empathy, which reduces our fear of other people.

Sanjaya finishes with a poem of Sri Chinmoy on the subject of fear.

God does not want you
To be afraid of anything.
He just wants you
To be aware of everything.
