My Prayerful Salutations to the United Nations – Part 2

Last modified November 19, 2006

This is the second volume of a selection of 50 worldwide concerts offered by Sri Chinmoy in 1995, celebrating and honouring the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations.

Both the performances and the production are of excellent quality. Sri Chinmoy performs on many different instruments from around the world, plus recites some of his talks on the subject of the spiritual heart, spirituality and how to stop the mind.

Other highlights on this album include instrumental and vocal renditions of the traditional Indian song Vasangsi Jirnani, performances on the flute, a salutation to Australia, and an eleven minute esraj performance.

United Nations

Sri Chinmoy offered 50 concerts to honour the United Nations because he felt the United Nations can play an important role in bringing about world peace and world oneness.

The United Nations is humanity’s home. The lofty vision of the United Nations is that we all belong to a peace-loving oneness-world-family. This vision will eventually transform the face and fate of the world.
