India: World-Cynosure – Part 1

Last modified October 24, 2021

In 1997, Sri Chinmoy offered 50 Peace Concerts in honour of the 50th anniversary of India’s independence, August 15th, 1947. This CD offers great moments from these 50 different concerts.

Track number 7, includes 38 minutes of Sri Chinmoy singing with the harmonium – including many English songs, such as “I came to your Lotus-Feet”, “Are you there God?” and “One song I shall never forget.”

Comment on album

In this sweet and soulful performance, Sri Chinmoy pays tribute to India, a country rich in heritage in many fields.

More than 10,000 years ago, India was already a flourishing civilization. With the Vedas, India was already shedding light on spiritual poetry, mathematics and medicine.

With its open heart and eternal faith, India has manifested the oneness which the heart of the world embodies.

Our gratitude to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful offering.
