Sri Chinmoy Plays the Cello

Last modified September 27, 2006

Seven tracks of Sri Chinmoy playing the cello.

Twenty three years ago today, September 27, 1983, Sri Chinmoy started to play the cello. Since then, it has become one of his favourite instruments, featured in hundreds of his free concerts around the world.

Sri Chinmoy often sings and plays his own melodies on the cello at the same time, almost as one would use a harmonium. Again, in some of his performances, Sri Chinmoy improvises with the cello. The performances presented here are instrumental, and feature some of Sri Chinmoy’s classic Bengali songs, such as Sundara Madhumoy, Usha Bala Elo, and Kata Gan.
