After 20 years of intense spiritual discipline in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, India, Sri Chinmoy received an inner command to come to the West and to be of service to aspiring seekers. He dedicated his life to the service of humanity, manifesting the fruits of prayer and meditation in the fields of music, art and athletics, among others. His worldwide peace initiatives, such as the Peace Run, inspire millions around the world to manifest their dreams for peace.

In Sri Chinmoy’s life, one of the most powerful manifestations of the fruits of prayer and meditation is through music. He composed over 20,000 devotional songs, and shared his music in over 800 free concerts worldwide.
His students love Sri Chinmoy’s songs, and some of his students have formed musical groups, which share with the public at large the beauty, peace and delight of the spiritual realm, the Divine.
