Sri Chinmoy’s New Year Concert, 3 Nov 2003

Last modified October 28, 2019

During his time in the West, every year, Sri Chinmoy would give a New Year’s Message, usually in December or November, when the energy of the New Year was beginning to manifest. Sri Chinmoy also frequently offered a special public New Year’s concert around this time. This concert was given on 3 November 2003.

Sri Chinmoy began the concert with singing one of his favourite songs – Ami jabo. After 13 different musical performances, Sri Chinmoy finishes the concert by offering his New Year’s Message for 2004. Sri Chinmoy began the message: “From my aspiration-heart, tomorrow the New Year begins.”

Here is the New Year’s Message by Sri Chinmoy for the year 2004:

The year 2004

My prayerful message:

“At the end of a very long and uncertain
Ignorance-flooded night-road,
The beauty of a new hope
And the ecstasy of a new promise
Shall unmistakably blossom.”

— Sri Chinmoy
