Andhar rate by Sri Chinmoy

This is a recording of Sri Chinmoy singing a Bengali song – “Andhar rate” for several minutes, and later inviting his students to join in with his singing. Over eight minutes, the song builds up a mantric resonance as it is sung many times.

The song was composed in August 1983 and was later published in the songbook ‘Journey’s Ecstasy’. The original recording was on audio cassette and in this recording you can hear the slight deterioration in the technical quality of the tape, however, the soulfulness and aspiration of the song remains unaffected.
