“Pranati” CD (2002)

Dear listeners, it is with great joy and pride that we present “Pranati”, originally released as a CD in 2002. In this wonderful collection, Sri Chinmoy sings 12 songs, part of more than 20,000 that he composed during his lifetime.

A few of the songs in this collection are dedicated to his Master, Sri Aurobindo. Sri Chinmoy entered the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry, India, in 1944 at the age of 12, and remained there until 1964, when he came to America to serve the aspiring seekers in the West.

Sri Chinmoy’s love for Sri Aurobindo is perhaps best expressed in the meaning of some of his songs composed in honor of Sri Aurobindo:

#8- Sri Aurobindo He Param Pita

“Sri Aurobindo, Sri Aurobindo,
I never forget, my only possession
Is the Dust of Your Feet.”

#2- Sri Aurobindo Kandari Tumi

“Sri Aurobindo, Sri Aurobindo,
You are the Pilot Supreme of the world-boat.
You are the first beckoning Hand of the Supermind.
O Avatar of the era, you have paved
The Light-flooded road for us to travel.”

#6- Sri Aurobindo Nam

“Sri Aurobindo, Sri Aurobindo,
You are the message of Heavens-Immortality.
Your Feet are the embodiment of
The flood of light and the ocean of liberation.”

We are grateful to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful and Illumining offering.
