“The Dreams Of My Heart”

Last modified January 19, 2009

Sri Chinmoy plays a few of his original compositions, as well as some extemporaneous improvisations, on 15 different wind instruments.

Sri Chinmoy was self-taught in many different instruments, from the flute to the cello. His spontaneity and creative abundance are an example of what can be achieved through prayer and meditation, which he always claimed was the source of his artistic inspiration. Sri Chinmoy liked to experiment on different instruments.

There are many kinds of music, but Sri Chinmoy’s music is best described as soulful music, music that can elevate and deepen the consciousness of the seeker. It is a music which embodies an intense inner cry, an ever-mounting flame of aspiration.
