Ganga – Sacred River

Last modified March 13, 2006

In this recording, the music group Ganga perform eighteen of Sri Chinmoy‘s compositions. The group of female vocals are backed by harmonium, tabla and other instruments to give a soft and relaxing sound.

As well as the many soulful Bengali songs, there are also a couple of English songs on the theme of ‘enthusiasm’. The last song ‘Jaya Jaya’ is a devotional tribute to the spiritual Master, Sri Aurobindo

This is an excellent album for meditation

This German music group, Ganga, take their name from the sacred Indian river ‘The Ganges’ which is the site for many spiritual devotions.
