Five Christmas Carols

Last modified January 1, 2007

This recording is from December 24, 2005. As part of our Christmas celebrations, an international choir of Sri Chinmoy‘s students sang Christmas Carols. It is always for us a source of great joy to honour the Christ by singing with these wonderful pieces of classical music.

We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

The fifth carol is Silent Night (German: Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht). The carol was composed in 1818 by Franz Gruber to lyrics by Joseph Mohr. Sri Chinmoy frequently stated that Silent Night was his favourite carol, and he requested singers to try and sing this carol as soulfully as possible.
