My Soul’s God-Songs

Last modified January 1, 2007

This extraordinary recording is a collection of 38 organ performances by Sri Chinmoy, from concerts he gave around the world between 1987 and 1988. Each excerpt from an organ performance is at least one minute in length.

Sri Chinmoy has played many of the most famous organs in the world, including the Vatican and the Sydney Opera House, as part of his efforts to promote world harmony through soulful and elevating music. Through music, he strives to share the beauty, subtlety and power of meditation.

Here is a short talk by Sri Chinmoy about soulful music:

“Music is the inner or universal language of God. I do not know French or German or Italian, but if music is played, immediately the heart of the music enters into my heart, or my heart enters into the music. At that time, we don’t need outer communication; the inner communion of the heart is enough. My heart is communing with the heart of the music and in our communion we become inseparably one.

– Sri Chinmoy

Our gratitude to Sri Chinmoy for this soulful and illumining offering.
