Sri Chinmoy says that ‘ Without humour we cannot exist on earth.

Humour really is the salt of life… Humour shakes off tension-fever, unnerves frustration-night and brings to the fore spontaneously encouraging reality and fulfilling beauty” And this week we present to you three humorous stories from Sri Chinmoy’s book ‘The Sailor And The Parrot’ I hope you enjoy them and thanks for listening.

The Sailor and the Parrot
A handsome young sailor travels the world by boat, wooing the girls as he goes, and promising to marry each of them. However, his last great journey ends in confusion, lies, and tears.

The Old Lady and the Doctor
An old lady visits a doctor with a complaint about her hearing. The doctor sees the problem she has as more of a blessing than a curse.

The Expensive Sweater
A wife bothers her husband for two weeks about buying a very beautiful and expansive sweater. He finally gives in and sends his wife to the shop.
